Have you heard about the latest Social Media site? Google Plus! The super innovative Google has released the latest Social Media site called Google Plus. I am super excited for this as I am a very huge Google fan. They seem to have a way of simplifying everything and giving users exactly what they need.

Google Plus is only open for a certain amount of users and you must be “invited” to start playing. I am personally very interested on what impact and opportunities Google Plus will be lending to small business. Currently, they don’t have fan or business pages like Facebook but rumor is that will change as soon as Sept 1.

If you want an invite leave a comment and I will send one over. I would love to hear comments about what kind of opportunities G+ will be giving small business.

Check out this video of the hosts of the Today Show as they desperately try to get help understanding the Internet…something that is arguably more popular than TV today. Hard to believe in 16 years the Internet has gone from a confusing no man’s land where nerds discuss the theories of X Files to a powerful tool used in the majority of households.

I am sure we can all sympathize with their confusion but today’s high school and college kids won’t even remember when that question didn’t seem ridiculous. Where do you think we will be 16 years from now?

HIPAA Compliant Software and Passwords

We have recently completed some HIPAA compliant websites for some of our favorite clients. Examples include Idaho Falls based Mountain View Hospital and HPTH.org. One of the most important things when creating HIPAA compliant code is to make sure that users have super secure passwords. We ran into this article for some interesting information on why it is so important to have secure passwords.

Apparently if you create a 9 character password with lower case, uppercase, numbers and symbols it will take a hacker 44,530 years to hack your password. For those who choose a simple 6 alpha character lowercase password the hacker can gain access in 10 min.

Web Impakt is proud to be an official supporter of the Idaho Falls Sounds Choir. The Idaho Falls Sounds Choir is Idaho Falls’ oldest continuous mixed adult choir. On June 24 – June 29 2010 they will be performing their 33rd show at the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium – Oklahoma! Don’t miss it.
