I wanted to take a moment today to personally inform Web Impakt blog visitors about Web Impakt.    We haven’t published much personal information on the Web Impakt website, as I choose to keep that as professional as possible.  However, I feel that perhaps an introduction on the Web Impakt blog may be the perfect place to discuss the company history.

My name is Lindsey Anderson and my partner, Ian Fisher and I run Web Impakt.  Web Impakt is the leading web design firm in Idaho.    Web Impakt was started in 2004.  I had just graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems,  from Idaho State University and got a job at the site.    If you are not familiar with the Idaho Falls Idaho area, “The Site” is the pet name of the Idaho National Laboratory who mawenages a Nuclear Waste Facility about 45 min from town.

My partner and I were contractors at IEEL and after our contracts ended, we decided to get an office and see if we could make a go of the web design business.  Web Impakt has an office in Idaho Falls Idaho and 7 full time workers and a hand full of contractors for when we get super busy.

I started Web Impakt because I felt as if the web design industry lacked customer service and customer experience.  We started Web Impakt as an Idaho Falls web design company, but we now have clients world wide.  Each day it is the goal at Web Impakt, to make our clients happy and to not only provide web site and custom software design but to educate and assist our clients into being successful.  This philosophy has proven to be successful and we are now the leading Idaho Falls web design company.  Our client list  comprises of some of the best companies in Idaho Falls Idaho and the world.

New Web Impakt Website Launched

Web Impakt is very proud to have launched our new website. Check it out and let us know what you think. We will be adding new and exciting information and downloads in the coming months but the updated design highlights our clients and talents better than the old one!

As I’ve told many of my clients in reference to the old site, “The cobblers kids have no shoes…..” Finally, the cobbler took some time on the weekends and made his kiddos some new kicks!

What is Internet anyway?

Check out this video of the hosts of the Today Show as they desperately try to get help understanding the Internet…something that is arguably more popular than TV today. Hard to believe in 16 years the Internet has gone from a confusing no man’s land where nerds discuss the theories of X Files to a powerful tool used in the majority of households.

I am sure we can all sympathize with their confusion but today’s high school and college kids won’t even remember when that question didn’t seem ridiculous. Where do you think we will be 16 years from now?

Web Impakt is proud to be an official supporter of the Idaho Falls Sounds Choir. The Idaho Falls Sounds Choir is Idaho Falls’ oldest continuous mixed adult choir. On June 24 – June 29 2010 they will be performing their 33rd show at the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium – Oklahoma! Don’t miss it.

Nearly 200 people from this great community have volunteered to put the musical together and it if it is anything like last years production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat it will be amazing.

Mayor’s Business Day

Mayor’s Business Day Attracts Hundreds

IDAHO FALLS – It wasn’t your everyday job fair.

Each year, Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman holds events for businesses and job seekers to network and further their contact base.

Monday was the first time the Mayor’s Business Summit was combined with the annual Job Fair and Business Connections events.

The event started with a speech from Governor Butch Otter at the Civic Auditorium.

Business Day continued with experts from the Department of Labor and regional economists participating in a panel discussion about the current state of the local economy.

“Right now, Idaho Falls has replaced the Treasure Valley as the most stable economy in Idaho,” said Roger Madsen, Director of the Idaho Department of Labor.

Down the hall from the Civic inside the gyms of Idaho Falls High School, local businesses came out in droves for the other portion of Monday’s event.

In the large gym, dozens of businesses set up booths as part of the annual Greater Idaho Falls Camber, Area Business Connection.

“This is a really important event for us, because some businesses don’t know they may need our services until we talk to them,” said Brian Ziel, Account Manager for Web Impakt, a locally owned and operated web page design business.

Web Impakt has been in operation for the past four years, and have already created web pages for the City of Idaho Falls, and are currently working on an upgrade for Snake River Landing’s web address.

“You have to put yourself out there, and just in the first five minutes, we’ve had a lot of leads and made some great contacts,” said Ziel.

 

Monday afternoon saw the start of a job fair which also saw hundreds of people stop by looking for valuable face time with local businesses.

“We have had some great response, and we hope it will help is finding people jobs, and stimulating our economy,” said Mayor Jared Fuhriman.

More than sixty businesses were on hand for Monday’s event.

Looking Forward!

Batman and the power of FACEBOOK!

We have been doing a lot of education to our clients about how to leverage the power of Facebook. It’s an awesome tool that any small business can use as a valuable lead generation tool.
